Week Ending 16 November 2018

We are pleased to welcome Lorenzo into Class 3 this week.

 Armistice Centenary Commemorations
Thank you to all Year 6 pupils who led our own Act of Remembrance in School last Friday. Thank you also to the pupils who shared their poems at the Act of Remembrance Service held in the village church on Sunday 11th November. Our poppy display was lent for the church service and much admired.

We are also marking the Armistice Centenary Commemorations by refreshing our own Garden of Remembrance and Reflection with new prayer flags. Each child will have the opportunity to choose a coloured flag, write or draw on it and peg it up with the other flags to create a colourful and reflective display.

Children In Need and Tiggywinkles Fundraising
Thank you to all those who came to school with a ‘spotty accessory’ and donated to these charities today, we shall let you know just how much we raised!

 PE Kit Plea!
Please could all children have their PE kit in school for PE lessons. This is especially important for pupils in KS1 and KS2 on Thursdays when they have a regular PE session each afternoon. Thank you.

School Lunches
For audit purposes, could we please respectfully remind parents that payments for school lunches are required in advance of the meal being provided, ideally on Monday morning for the week ahead. Correct change is always very much appreciated!

Class 3 Woodlands Residential Visit Meeting on Wednesday 5th December 2018
Unfortunately, Mr Pierce had to cancel the meeting which was due to take place on Tuesday 13th November.  We have now arranged for Mr Pierce, Head of Centre, to come again at 2:15pm on Wednesday 5th December.  The meeting will be finished by 3:15pm.

If you are unable to attend but would like a particular question raised with Chris, then please speak to Mrs Turner or to Mrs Wahid, in confidence, before the meeting.

Meerkat Champion of the Week
