Welcome back to everyone for the start of the Summer Term!

Welcome to Mrs James
We welcome Mrs Heather James as Class 2 teacher this half of term. We also extend a warm welcome to Lewis, who has joined Class 2 this term. It’s lovely to see how quickly Mrs James and the children in Class 2 have settled in to the new term.

Book Fair from 22nd May
Once a year we have a Book Fair which will be arriving this year on Wednesday 22 May. There will be a great selection of books (look out for the leaflet in book bags which illustrates a selection of them) chosen carefully to inspire and entertain young readers and earn, by way of commission, free books for school. The Book Fair will be open on the following days;

Wednesday 22nd May – after school only

Thursday 23rd May – before and after school

Friday 24th May – before and after school.

This year we have a special offer of 3 books for the price of 2 and we look forward to seeing you there! Thank you.

Chess Club
Chess Club this year had attendees from Yr1-Yr5. We started some match games straight away for some children, whilst others practised and learnt how to play. All club members became confident enough to play matches by the end of the 8 weeks we had been meeting for. We had a tie of 2 pupils with the most points and had to have an extra ‘play-off’ match to decide the final position and also for 3rd place.

Nate MB and Jude B played for 3rd place, and drew. Noah B and Peter F-V played for the trophy and Noah won. Well done to Noah, and to all who took part and played with good sportsmanship!

 All the cake and biscuits were very creative and a lot of hard work had obviously gone into decorating them with an Easter theme. Mrs Turner had a hard job judging the competition and the winners will be announced in the end of term assembly on Friday morning.
