E-Safety Update for Parents
From Samantha Robinson, Parent Governor and Safeguarding
Lead Governor
Children
are using the internet at much younger ages these days and it is important that
adults are aware of how to keep children safe from some of the many dangers
they may face online.
The
NSPCC have a brilliant guide for some of the most popular apps and games that
your children may be using.
Click
here https://www.net-aware.org.uk/ to
find out more information about different apps including SNAPCHAT, FACEBOOK,
INSTAGRAM and YOU TUBE.
Many
of our children are also regularly playing games online BUT do YOU know how
safe they are and who they are communicating with?

Health and Safety
Audit
We
are pleased to share with parents the findings from the Local Authority audit
this week of our Health and Safety procedures:
“As
reported last year, the high standard of H&S management continues, credit
to all involved. It is an absolute
pleasure to be presented with so much organised information and confirmation of
the monitoring processes and procedures that you have in place.”
Book Fair
Thank
you to everyone who purchased books and stationery items from our Book Fair
last week. We are pleased to report that our sales amounted to £428.99 which
meant that we were able to take £196 worth of books for our classroom libraries
by way of commission. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.

also to Oliver and Mrs Shortman for counting it for us.
The Big Science
Event Judging
On
Monday 22 May, Roger Baker; Big Science Event Judge visited several schools
including Stadhampton to judge our Big Science presentation, Stressy
SATs! Does Music Help You Relax?
We
wanted to find out whether music helps children relax when completing a test.
The group selected from Stadhampton were Juliana, Tillie, Tende, Ella and
Isabella (Year 6). The judge was very impressed with our presentation and we
all tried our best. The judge will inform the school after half term if we have
been successfully selected. If we don’t get through, it has been a great
experience.
“I
really enjoyed presenting our investigation to Roger” – Juliana
“I
have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and it has been a great learning curve”
– Tillie
“Having
this chance has made me work better in a team and we have bonded together” –
Tende
“I
have loved having this opportunity and it has really made me appreciate
learning and bonding with my friends” – Ella
“I
have really enjoyed this experience and have found the results very interesting
and it would be amazing if we got through” – Isabella
We all worked really hard and understand
that the competition will be very tough as over seventy schools are competing
for ten places…..
