Week ending 12 January
2018
Holiday and Term
Dates for the academic year starting in September 2018 have been uploaded to
the school website this week. A copy is also attached to this
newsletter. Holiday and Term Dates for the current school year are also
available on the school website.
Class
Curriculum Overview ‘Jigsaws’
Overviews of the curriculum for each class
for this Spring Term, presented in the format of a ‘jigsaw’ to reflect our
integrated curriculum are also scheduled to be uploaded to the school website.
Please look under the ‘Classes section’ of the school website. Thank you.
Swimming
at the Abbey Sports Centre for Class 2 pupils
As always, we are most grateful to receive
a ‘voluntary contribution’ from parents of £2 per child per swimming session
towards the transport costs (currently £75 per visit). Cheques for swimming
contributions (£10 in total) should be made payable to Stadhampton School.
Thank you to the parents who have already made a contribution. It is very much
appreciated.
School
Newsletters – please tell us your thoughts!
Thank you to those parents who took the
time to let us know their thoughts about our school newsletter. Everyone who
responded said they found the frequency of a weekly newsletter very helpful as
it means the information comes in “manageable chunks rather than in a much
longer monthly missive”. Several parents also reported that “they found the
reminders about upcoming events/dates invaluable.” We are looking into the
issues some parents face with accessing the newsletter on their i-phone or Mac
pc and will let you know if we can find a solution.
School
Council – Spring Term 2018
Congratulations to our new School Council
members, elected by their peers at the beginning of the Spring Term. They are;
Year 2 – Cara G & Frankie S
Year 3 – Laila B & Dexter E
Year 4 – Mia G & Casey P
Year 5 – Freya C & Daniel R
Year 6 – Isabel H & Wyatt B
We hope you have a very successful term. We
also thank the out-going School Council for the Autumn Term for their hard
work, ideas and achievements – well done to all!
ELLI Project Assembly
This
half term, as part of our ELLI project, we will be looking at how “Curiosity”
can help us learn and broaden our experiences.
On
Thursday, Year 5 led our ELLI Project Assembly, featuring “Curiosity Cat”.
Through the sketches they had prepared themselves, they demonstrated how
curiosity enables us to explore and delight in discovery. They showed us
how asking questions lets us learn for the joy of learning!
