Miss
Raval Update
Following my previous update of 30.10.2017,
we are now able to let you know that Miss Raval continues to be off work and is
currently signed off until 4 December 2017. We trust that Miss Raval’s
condition is improving. In the meantime, Mrs Wahid continues to provide
teaching cover in Class 3 and we are appreciative of her on-going commitment.
Mrs Wahid will be absent herself on 30 November, 1 December and 4 December. Class
3 will covered by Mrs Turner, Mrs Hargrave, Mrs Singleton, Mrs Gravett, and
other school staff during the 3 days of Mrs Wahid’s absence.
Thank you for your understanding.
School
Lunches
For audit purposes, could we please
respectfully remind parents that payments for school lunches are required in advance of the meal being provided, ideally
on Monday morning for the week ahead.
Parent Governor Vacancy
The Governing Body at Stadhampton School is
made up of parent governors, a LA governor, co-opted governors, the Headteacher
and a staff governor. The governing body has an extremely important role: it is
responsible for working strategically in partnership with the headteacher and
staff to identify the most important aspects of the school that need to be
improved, approving plans to achieve this and ensuring progress. All governors
receive training to help them carry out their role. Oxfordshire Governor
Services runs special induction courses for new governors – we expect all our
governors to attend this training. Being a governor is a great opportunity to
understand more about how the school operates, and is a chance to support the
school in developing its short, medium and longer term strategic
priorities.
We currently have a vacancy for one
parent governor and invite applications from parents or anyone who has
parental responsibility for a pupil on the school roll at the time of the
election. Parent governors, like all governors, will be most effective if they
bring relevant skills and experience, as well as the ability to work as part of
a team. We need committed parent governors to make the governing body as effective
as it can be. All nominations should be sent in to the school office by 3.15pm
on Tuesday 12 December 2017. If you would like to know a
little more about becoming a parent governor, please get in touch with any
member of the governing body.
Regulation 17,
Schedule 4 of The School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2012
covers the qualifications and disqualifications of governors for Maintained
Schools. We can provide interested parties with a copy of the regulations which
clarify who is eligible and who is not eligible to stand as a governor.
Nits
We have been notified that a child in Class
1 has been treated twice for having nits and keeps being reinfected. Please
could we ask that all parents, particularly those with children in Class 1,
check their children’s hair for nits and treat if necessary. Thank you.
BBC Children in
Need
A huge “Thank You” to all who participated
in our ‘Wacky Hair’ Day in support of Children in Need. There was a wide range
of creative and colourful hairstyles and wigs and we know that many families
were up early to organise their domestic hair salons! We are delighted to let
you know that we raised a grand total of £116.70. Thank you all and thank you
to the School Council for coming up with the idea!
Christmas
Jumper Day - Friday 15 December
Following the success of ‘Wacky Hair’ Day,
the School Council have also requested that we support Christmas Jumper Day on
Friday 15 December in aid of the Save the Children Fund. Children and staff are
invited to wear a Christmas jumper instead of their school sweatshirt or
cardigan (or decorate a plain jumper or cardigan) and donate £1 to Save the
Children. Friday 15 December is also when we will have our whole-school
Christmas Lunch and the festive jumpers will add to the atmosphere!
