Newsletter No 20 / 2nd July 2010

Happy JULY Birthday to: Alex Birtles, Georgia Day, Ben Drake, Ayisha Hall, Andrew Oakley and Peter Roe.

During the month of JULY we are focusing on the core value of COURAGE

Community Tea
A reminder that we are hosting a community tea for the elders of the parish on Tuesday 6th July from 2pm. If any parents would be willing to provide a cake which could be cut up or individual small cakes towards this event, we would really appreciate it.

Classes 2 and 3 Visit to Bhaktivedanta Manor Hindu Temple – Report by Chloe Scragg and Hannah Tombling
“On Tuesday 29th June Classes 2 and 3 went to the Bhaktivedanta Manor Hindu Temple. When we got there we went on a bullock cart ride. Next we went to see the cows, bulls and calves. We then went in the manor house to dress up as gods and goddesses. Then we had a delicious curry for lunch. After lunch we got our faces painted and listened to a scary story. It was lots of fun but sadly we had to go back to school.”

Daylight Theatre Production
We are pleased to welcome Daylight Theatre back into school on Friday 16th July, to perform a play for the whole school. This year’s production is “Treasure in the Sand”, an exciting Egyptian mystery with tombs, treasure and mummies! We look forward to an entertaining morning. Parents are very welcome to join us for the performance which starts at 10.15am, but we request that you do not bring young children or babies. We are grateful to the PTA for contributing half of the cost of this performance, and therefore we will not make any additional charge for pupils or parents.

Little Bears News
We are so excited at Little Bears this week, as the long awaited climbing frame has arrived, and it is fantastic! The children have really enjoyed exploring it and have helped the staff make up some safety rules.
We are still learning about “Under the Sea” this week making wonderful mobiles of fish, shells and starfish. The children have made a large mermaid collage, and some excellent jellyfish. Next week we move onto “The Beach.”

Hats Reminder
Please remember swimming hats for the pool and sun hats/caps for breaktimes.
