Newsletter No 19 / 25th June 2010

Swimming Kit
As the weather is so nice at the moment, please could we remind ALL pupils that they should have swimming kit in school each day, which must include their own swimming hat.

School Meals Price Increase
We have just received notification that the cost of a school meal will rise on 1st September to £2.05. Cheques for school meals should be made payable to Oxfordshire County Council, with Stadhampton Primary School written on the back please. Thank you.

Community Tea
We are hosting a community tea for the elders of the parish on Tuesday 6th July from 2pm. If any parents would be willing to provide a cake which could be cut up or individual small cakes towards this event, we would really appreciate it.

Clothes Recycling Collection
The PTA has now received a cheque for the last clothes recycling collection. 770kgs were collected which raised £284.90. Many thanks to everyone for this magnificent effort.

Watlington Partnership of Schools International Week
Last week the Watlington Partnership of Schools held an “International Week”. This involved a variety of international education activities in each school and culminated in a joint display of work from all the primary schools being presented at Icknield Community College. In addition, Year 5 pupils from across the partnership attended a drumming workshop, which they thoroughly enjoyed! Volunteer Year 5 pupils returned, after school, to provide a drumming demonstration for parents who were also able to view the displays. Many thanks to Year 9 Art pupils at ICC for setting up the displays on behalf of the primary schools and especially to Andrew Oakley and Tom Leighfield for representing Stadhampton School in the drumming demonstration!

Little Bears News
We are very excited at Little Bears this week as we have been told the long awaited climbing frame is arriving on Thursday! We do intend to spend a great deal of time on it over the next few weeks. Meanwhile we are thinking about Under the Sea. We have made a beautiful Mermaid collage and lots of ‘Fishy’ colourings and paintings. We are moving on to octopus and starfish later this week and next.
