Week Ending 10 May 2019

During May we are focusing on the core value of Understanding

Key Stage 2 SATs Week
A reminder that the national KS2 SATs take place throughout the week starting Monday 13 May 2019. Please avoid any routine Doctor or Dentist appointments for pupils during this week. The national SATs tests are timetabled for Year 6 pupils that week, however all KS2 pupils have formal assessments the same week. Please ensure all children are in school punctually for a prompt start each day.

Thank you.

 Allergy and Anaphylaxis Reminder
At Stadhampton Primary School we are concerned about the safety and well-being of all pupils. Many parents will know someone who is affected by anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction and we endeavour to be an allergy-aware school. Staff are routinely trained in severe allergy management and we have a number of strategies to help keep pupils who are at risk of anaphylaxis as safe as we can. Nuts, or foods containing nuts, are a leading cause of severe allergic reactions in some people and we do have members of our school community who are known to be allergic to nuts.

We can never totally eliminate the risk of anaphylaxis but we can do all we can to minimise the risk. We respectively request that foodstuffs containing nuts are not brought into school. School meals prepared by Mrs Sheridan are nut free. Food containing ‘traces of nuts’ are fine as long as the non-allergic children do not share their food.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

Message from Mrs Wahid
Dear Parents,

I can’t begin to express my gratitude to you enough for your patience and support over the last few months. I have been overwhelmed with your kindness and understanding of my circumstances. Daytime TV has become mind-numbing and I’m itching to be back in the classroom! I look forward to being back in school once I am feeling stronger.

Once again, thank you for your support.

Mrs Wahid

Bingo Evening - Friday 17th May - 6pm
Don’t forget the Bingo Evening on Friday 17th May in the school hall.  This time it’s for the whole family - children, parents, grandparents, siblings, friends - all welcome, the more the merrier!

Tickets are £2.50 each and include nibbles and the first game of bingo.  Subsequent games of bingo will cost £1 each, which you will be able to buy on the night.

There will be a bar selling beer, wine, prosecco and soft drinks, as well as snacks and confectionery.

The bar will be open from 5.30pm, with the first bingo game starting at 6pm.

Please see Melanie Gravett or Carol Holmes for tickets or leave money with details of how many tickets you need with the school office and we will get these to you at the gate or in your child’s book bag.

Our next PTA committee meeting will be on Wednesday 19th June at 8pm at The Crown. All welcome.
