Changes for September
As you will be aware Mrs Humphries (Reception teacher) is currently on maternity leave
and was due to return to school for the start of the new academic year in
September. Mrs Humphries has been appointed as a part-time teacher at
Watlington Primary School. There will still be many opportunities through the
CLOSER partnership to maintain contact with her. We know that Mrs Humphries
will be missed by pupils, parents and colleagues alike. She was a dedicated and
valued member of our team and was instrumental in setting up a very successful
EYFS class in their current setting. We hope that she will be able to come to
our end of year assembly on 21 July so that everyone will have an opportunity
to thank her for her great contribution to this school and wish her well in her
future career at Watlington Primary.
We are delighted to be able to announce
that Mrs Stafford, who has done an
excellent job covering Mrs Humphries’ maternity leave and who has quickly
established herself as a valued member of the school team, will be staying with
us and has been appointed as a permanent member of staff teaching the Reception
Class.
We are also very sad to be losing Mrs Gonzalez as she will be taking up a
new position at Lord Williams Lower School, a secondary school close to her
home. We will say goodbye to Mrs Gonzalez in our assembly on 21 July and wish
her every success in her career at Lord Williams.

Calendar Syncing
for Parents
Thank you to the families who have let us
know that they find it very useful to have followed the guidance which enables
them to download the school calendar events from the school website into their
personal calendar on their computer, tablet or phone. We have attached the
notes on how to do this to this newsletter again in case other families would
also find this useful.
Lunch credit
The lunch credit issued by Food and More to
cover the roast chicken meal which was unable to be served on 29 March has been
added now to individual pupils’ lunch credits. Please check with Mrs Hopkins if
you’re not sure whether you had paid for, and your child had ordered, a roast
chicken meal on that day. Thank you.
Class
2’s trip to Sulgrave Manor – Report by Ella and Thomas
“On Wednesday 7 June we went on a school
visit to Sulgrave Manor. We all got to dress up in Tudor clothes and spent the
day as Tudor children in the Washington family home. Mistress Meg and Mistress
Annie showed us around the house. They taught us a Tudor dance and some of us
performed a play about Tudor history to the rest of the class. It was amazing!”
Class
3 Elections – Report by Sam, Isabel and May:
“We held a mini election in Class 3 because
of the General Election last week. Our parties were:
FEATHER (Family, Environment,
Animal welfare, Transport, Housing, Equal rights
and Religion)
Environmental Impact
Support Environment & Family Care
(SEFC)
UK Saver
Everyone Matters
Support Everyone
Greenland
Everyone presented their manifesto in front
of the whole class. Then we voted inside a booth made from a display board. The
teacher counted the votes and told us what they were. The results were: 2 votes
each for Everyone Matters and Support Everyone; 3 votes for UK Saver and
Greenland; 4 votes for Environmental Impact and 5 votes for SEFC; the winners
were FEATHER with 8 votes.”

Thank you to everyone for their donations
of Sainsbury’s vouchers which we exchange for play and sports equipment. Final
call for any further vouchers lurking in bags to be brought in please so that
we can complete our order and send it off. Thank you.
