Newsletter for week ending 23rd October 2015

Driving in Cratlands Close
A parent has e-mailed to express their concerns about the speed at which some parents drive down Cratlands Close. The safety of children is of paramount importance to us all. We would remind parents to please exercise particular caution about their driving speed when they are in close proximity to the school.

Book Fair
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Book Fair this week. It has now finished. We shall let you know after the October Holiday about the books that the school has been able to receive by way of commission.

New School Meals Menu
A link to the new menu which begins on 2nd November has now been added to the school website.

After School Clubs in Term 2
Dates and details of the After School Clubs taking place in Term 2 have now been uploaded to the school website.
There are still places left on all After School Clubs, so it would still be possible to add your child to the lists at the beginning of next term.

Worms

Thank you to a parent for reporting that they have treated their child (and the rest of the family) for worms. Please could everyone take this opportunity to remind their child (ren) about the importance of washing their hands particularly after using the toilet. Thank you.

Follow up to Childline School Visit to Class 3 Pupils
The Childline Schools Service has recently visited all children in Years 5 and 6 to provide them with key messages about keeping safe. It can be beneficial for these messages to be reinforced at home.

The NSPCC has developed some guides for all parents of primary school aged children to speak to your child about keeping safe – called the ‘Underwear Rule.’ You can find guides to the Underwear Rule to help you have simple conversations about keeping safe from abuse at www.nspcc.org.uk/underwear.

You can speak to an advisor for further advice or request a hard-copy guide for parents and carers by phoning the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000. You can also visit www.nspcc.org.uk/parents for other advice on keeping your child safe.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or further comments about the service, please do not hesitate to contact me.

All donations to go on the PTA box in the school hall. Without donations from parents the Winter Fair would not take place.

Can you volunteer to help at the Winter Fair? Please see Georgina Wiggins if you can spare anytime.

There are nearly 3,000 retailers including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, thetrainline and Sainsbury's, who will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to Stadhampton Primary School PTA to say thank you for shopping with them. It's really simple, and doesn't cost you anything.

All you have to do is:
1. Go to http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/stadhamptonpspta
2. Sign up for free
3. Get shopping - your donations will be collected by easyfundraising and automatically sent to Stadhampton Primary School PTA. It couldn't be easier!
