Newsletter for week ending 2nd October 2015

Happy OCTOBER Birthday to: Wyatt Bullock, Laila Burnell, Ella Fulker, Mia Gravett, Jake Jones, Sophy Mercer, Oliver Parkes, Ellie Payne, Lewis Payne, Harvey Saunders and Ellie Walker.

During OCTOBER we are focusing on the core value of RESPONSIBILITY

Chair of Governors

Jason Hector, stepped down as Chair of Governors at the Governing Body meeting on Monday 28th September. Mr Hector has been Chair of our Governing Body since December 2010 and on behalf of all pupils, parents and staff we would like to thank him for his commitment and leadership of the Governing Body over this period. We are delighted that Mr Hector is willing to continue as an active member of the Governing Body and will work closely with Sara Wright, who has agreed to be our new Chair. Paul Gravett has kindly agreed to take on the role of Vice Chair from Sara Wright who has held the post for the last couple of years.

At Stadhampton School we strongly believe that the role of the governing board is absolutely key to the effectiveness of our school. Time and time again Ofsted (the national inspection body for schools) has noted that the most effective schools demonstrate effective leadership and management - including by the governing body.

Parents’ Consultation Evenings
This year, our parents’ evenings have been arranged for Monday 16th and Wednesday 18th November 2015. Booking forms were sent home in book bags earlier this week. Appointments will be offered on a ‘first come first served’ basis.

Official Notice of the PTA's Annual General Meeting (AGM) - Tuesday 13th October, 8pm in the School Hall .
The PTA plays a vital part in the school community and all parents, as members of the PTA, are invited to support the AGM. This is your chance to hear and see how the funds you have helped to raise last year have been used for the benefit of the children at our school.
The AGM is also an opportunity for you to elect the PTA Officers (Chair, Treasurer, Secretary), to represent the association throughout the forthcoming academic year. Our current Secretary, Melanie Gravett, and current Treasurer, Charlotte Hector, will not be standing for re-election, so if you are interested in taking on one of these roles or the role of chair, please confirm your interest by email to the school office prior to the AGM meeting (formal nominations will take place at the meeting itself). If you would like any further information about any of theses roles or are just interested in joining the committee, please speak to Melanie or Charlotte or our current Chair, Georgina Wiggins. Or if you just want to come to the meeting to find out a bit more, everyone is most welcome.
