Week Ending 11 January 2019

Welcome back to everyone and Happy New Year!

During JANUARY we are focusing on the core value of Friendship

 Thank you
All members of staff would like to join me in thanking you for your many good wishes, Christmas cards and very thoughtful Christmas gifts. We don’t expect any gifts but are very touched by your generosity and thoughtfulness. Thank you!

Mrs Wahid
Mrs Wahid has asked us to thank you, on her behalf, for all the thoughtful cards, notes, messages and gifts she has received at the end of term. She was very touched by everyone’s consideration and generosity.

Mrs Wahid continues to be signed off sick at the start of this term and we wish her well with her on-going treatment and recovery. For the time being, Class 3 will continue to be taught by Mrs Bartlett on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and we are pleased that Mrs Moore joins us to teach class 3 for the remainder of the week.

Academisation Update
Following the consultation process which took place last year, we confirmed that we would proceed towards becoming an academy and that we planned to join the Acer Trust.

I am pleased to confirm that the primary work has now been completed and it is anticipated that we will become part of the Acer Trust with effect from 1st February 2019.

It has been a long journey to get to this point, and the Governing Body feel strongly that this is the right step towards securing the future we want for our wonderful primary school.

If anyone has any further questions, please do drop a note into the office to the attention of the Chair of Governors (with your contact details), and we will be very pleased to follow up with you.

Curriculum Overview
We have now uploaded our Curriculum Overviews for each class for the Spring Term, onto our school website. These are in the form of a ‘jigsaw’ to reflect our integrated curriculum. Please have a look!

Shelter Box
We are delighted to share the great news that we have managed to raise the amazing total of £590 for Shelter Box! This enables us to provide a temporary home for a destitute family somewhere in the world. Thank you! We are liaising with Shelter Box personnel to visit the school and give an assembly later this term.

Forest School Dates
The Forest School dates for January through to early April are attached to this newsletter. They have also been uploaded to the school website and the school calendar on the website. Please could parents/children make a note when their Forest School sessions are so that appropriate clothing is brought to school on those days. Thank you.
