Week Ending 14 December 2018

School Christmas Productions
Thank you, as always, for all of your support. We had a great turnout of parents and other relatives to attend both productions. All of the children were fantastic performers and are a credit to you all. Proceeds from the sale of the tickets this year, plus some generous additional donations, will be sent to shelter Box, a charity that provides emergency family shelter ‘in a box’. A shelter box is a practical solution in emergency situations and in the midst of a disaster makes all the difference to a desperate family left without a home. A complete box (including a custom family tent, cooking equipment, blankets, tools, solar lighting and water purification) costs £590 which we thought was a big target for a small school, but we are delighted to let you know that we have raised over £500 and expect this to rise further. A massive “Thank You” to everyone – and just perhaps we can reach our ultimate target!

Our Key Stage 2 production, ‘Aladdin Trouble’ was great fun and was clearly thoroughly enjoyed by pupils and audience alike! Thank you to you, as parents, for helping support us with providing amazing costumes and helping your children practise their lines. Thank you to all staff involved, especially Mrs Singleton, Miss Bartlett, Mrs Shortman and Mrs Ellis, and to the PTA for providing the after performance bar.

Our Key Stage 1 and Reception production, ‘Shine, Star, Shine’ was also most enjoyable and the children did so well to learn all the songs and remember their speaking parts and actions. We are already seeing glimpses of who may be taking on lead parts in the future! Thank you to all staff involved and especially Mrs Manzie, Mrs Stafford, Mrs Venner and Mrs Baker.

Our annual Nativity and Carol Service will be held in the church of St John the Baptist in Stadhampton at 2:15pm on Tuesday 18th December and you are most welcome to join us. All pupils will come back to school after the Nativity and Carol Service so that parents can collect them from here.

Christmas Lunch 2018!
Christmas Lunch this year is on Wednesday 19 December: It is a tradition at Stadhampton School that the whole-school joins in our Festive Lunch and we hope that everyone will choose our special school dinner.

The menu is:
Roasted Turkey with chipolata sausage, or Roasted Quorn with vegetarian sausage; sage and onion stuffing; roast potatoes, carrots, peas, and gravy. Dessert is a festive ice-cream. We can accommodate requests such as no gravy, etc.

The cost of the meal is £2.20 and all pupils make their special place mat in the morning and we have crackers, napkins and music. Staff serve the pupils with their meal. Payment for the meal for pupils in Classes 2 and 3 is welcome at any time prior to the event. Pupils who normally have a Free School Meal may still do so on this day and all pupils in Reception and Class 1 are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal so will get their lunch free on this day too!

Christmas Party arrangements
Our annual whole school Christmas Party takes place during the afternoon of Thursday 20 December. A school meal or a packed lunch will still be required as usual. School & PTA will supply party food, drinks & prizes. Children may bring party clothes to change into after lunch if they wish. Our after school multisports club will be on as usual for participating pupils. Please bring PE kit for the after school session.
