6 E-mail from ICC directly to parents about Buddying sessions
Y6 parents should have received an e-mail direct to
them from ICC to explain the arrangements for the Buddying sessions. Please let
Mrs Hopkins know if you didn’t receive the e-mail as that means they are likely
to have an incorrect e-mail address on file for you. Please confirm with Mrs Hopkins whether your child will or won’t be able to attend the
buddying sessions.
After half term, Year 10 students from Icknield
Community College will be visiting Stadhampton School to run three one hour
sessions for Year 6 students to help ease their transition to secondary school.
The sessions will take place on the following
Wednesdays from 3.30 – 4.30 (timings to allow ICC students to travel
back to their home village on County transport) with the following themes:
13 June:
Getting to Know You
20 June:
Finding My Way Around
27 June:
Working Together
The final session, “Who’s who and where do I fit
in?” will take place on the Thursday afternoon of the new student induction
days (4-6 July 2018).
The “Buddying” sessions will enable your child to
meet older students from Icknield before their transfer, as well providing them
with an opportunity to ask any questions they might have (directly to students
rather than to teachers!)
The sessions will be fun and practical and a member
of staff from the primary school will be supervising the session. We do hope
that your child will be able to benefit from this opportunity.
NITS
Thank you to the parent who has kindly let
us know that she has treated her children for nits recently. It does appear
that more than one class is affected at the current time and we therefore
respectfully suggest that ALL parents
please check their children’s hair over the weekend and treat if there is any
evidence of nits. If everyone does this there is an excellent chance that this
outbreak could be cleared up quickly. Thank you for your co-operation in this
matter.

Community News
My
last session as Youth Club leader and Chair will be on 18th July. I have really
enjoyed my time at Stadhampton Youth Club but life is busy with two jobs and
two boys!
I am looking for someone to hand over the position to. The children love youth club, we have on average 20 children per session. We run on the first and third Wednesday of every month between 6.30-7.30pm in the church We are members of Oxfordshire Youth who have been very supportive. There is a small but wonderful group of volunteers who help each week.
Please contact me if you would like more information I would hate to see it stop after everyone’s hard work and I’m sure the kids would miss it!
Many thanks Anna (Thomas’s mum)
