Week ending 20 April 2018

Happy April Birthday to: Cianna Browning, Isabel Holmes, Zachary Holmes, Elsa Jacobs, Sam Sundberg, Orla Valentine and Harry Ventham.

During April we are focusing on the core value of THOUGHTFULNESS

Class 3 Teacher update

Following previous communication regarding Miss Raval and her on-going absence due to illness, we are now in a position to be able to provide you with definitive information. We are now able to inform you that Miss Raval will not be returning to Stadhampton School. I am sure that you will join me in thanking Miss Raval for her contributions to the school over her 3 years here and in wishing her well in the future.

We are very grateful to Mrs Wahid for providing continuity of teaching in Class 3 over the last 7 months and for her commitment to Stadhampton School during this time. We now have a teaching vacancy in Class 3 and are seeking to find the best possible permanent candidate for this role. In accordance with employment law, we have advertised this staff vacancy and will be interviewing candidates on Monday 23rd April. We will, of course, inform you of the outcome of the interviews once an appointment has been made.

School Meals Menu

Food with Thought, our school meals provider, has decided to continue with the present school lunches menu until half-term. This week we started on Week 1, so it will be Week 2 next week, etc.

Swimming at Berinsfield

Swimming has begun for Class 2 pupils. There will be further sessions on 23, 30 April & 14, 21 May & 4 June 2018. As always, we are most grateful to receive a voluntary contribution from parents towards the cost of the transport (currently £75 a visit) in cash or by cheque please (for £12 for the six sessions), with cheques made payable to Stadhampton Primary School. Thank you to the parents who have very kindly made a contribution already.

Key Stage 2 SATs Week

A reminder that the national KS2 SATs take place throughout the week starting Monday 14 May 2018. Please avoid any routine doctor’s or dentist appointments for pupils during this week. Thank you.

Jian-Zi Tournament Update

As you may be aware, our annual ‘jian –zi’ tournament is held in conjunction with our friends at Hazlach School in Poland. We have now heard that their highest score was by Jakub Suchanek with a score of 56. Our highest score this year was by Harvey Saunders with a score of 36, so Jakub is the international champion this year. Congratulations to Jakub! Both Harvey and Jakub will have their names and scores engraved on the trophy and the trophy will be sent to Hazlach to go on display until we retrieve it again! Interestingly Jakub was their winner in 2017 with a score of 15 so we hope that Harvey, and others, will be successful in the future!

LITTLE BEARS NEWS:

Welcome back to the summer term, we hope everyone enjoyed a peaceful break.

The Little Bears are enjoying the sunny weather and spending lots of time outdoors. We have enjoyed some bug hunts and finding out all about animals in the wild. We hopefully have some frog spawn on the way so the children can observe life cycles.

The children and team would like to say a huge thank you to the Dickens family for the kind donation of a play kitchen which is much loved by the Little Bears and for a lovely armchair which the children have enjoyed cosying up in with a book!
