Ofsted Report
Following our recent school inspection we
have now received the final report from Ofsted. This means that we can now
share the outcome and I am very pleased to be able to say that Ofsted judged us
to be ‘good’ in every category. This is a very positive outcome. A paper copy
of the report was sent to each family earlier this week and an electronic copy
has been uploaded onto the school website.
Ofsted is, quite rightly, a rigorous
process and this judgement is a reflection of the on-going hard-work,
commitment and professionalism of all members of the staff, the positive
attitude of our pupils, the commitment of our governing body and the support
and engagement of parents and carers. Together we make Stadhampton School the
successful and special place that it is, and one to be proud of.
Thank you.
Sports Evening
Our Sports
Evening is an annual school highlight. Pupils have been practising, the PTA
have all the refreshments organised, the governors are ready to adjudicate and
we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a dry evening. Here are a few final
reminders to ensure that we all have an enjoyable and safe evening:
Pupils should arrive at school at
6.15pm so that the races may begin promptly at 6.30pm. Please remember to send
them with a drink of water or squash!
Parking – if
you are able to walk to sports evening it would be much appreciated and really
help the congestion in Cratlands Close. The netball court will be available for
a limited amount of parking. Please be mindful of the residents of Cratlands
Close and avoid obstructing access in and out of driveways.
Spectator line: a line has been
marked for parents/carers/visitors to position themselves behind so that pupils
are able to run safely in the outside lanes. Please bring a folding deckchair
or rug if you would like to sit down.
Finishing
line: is where the judges will be waiting to award stickers, update the
scoreboard, etc.
It is important that everyone else keep this
area clear, please.
Bar: the bar will be open from 6.15pm.
Please support the PTA by buying your drinks from the bar.
BBQ: bbq
food will be available during the races for spectators wishing to exchange
their food tickets at this time and avoid the big queue after the races.
Play equipment: for insurance
purposes this area is not available for use during sports evening.
Young children: please keep younger
siblings away from the racetrack whilst the races are on to avoid potential
collisions!
Football/ball games: we politely
request that no ball games are played whilst the races are taking place.
Should there
be any need to postpone we will send an e-mail tomorrow and post a message on
the home page of the school website. Thank you.

& More (Carillion) a revised meal price of £2.20 has been agreed and this
will be introduced from September 2017 until August 2018.
School Meals Menu
The
new lunch menu which begins in September 2017 has been uploaded to the school
website this week. Paper copies are available in the school office for any
families that would like one.
Big Science Event
Tillie, Ella, Tende, Juliana and Isabella were
lucky enough to be chosen to go to the Big Science event in Oxford on July the
6th. Their science experiment and presentation called "
Stressy SATs- does music help you relax?" was one of 12 pieces of work
chosen to go to the events final out of more than 200 entries and 1200 pupil
participants!! They did a smooth, slick and convincing presentation in front of
3 very tough ( but kind ) judges. During the day, they had a tour of the
Abbott Laboratories and were shown a number of science experiments as well as
being able to do some simple tests themselves. All in all whilst they didn't
win the final prize, they were winners for being there in the first
place. Well done the " stress testers" as they call themselves.

Official
Notice of the PTA's Annual General Meeting (AGM) – Tuesday 3rd October, 8pm in
the School Hall
The
PTA plays a vital part in the school community and all parents, as members of
the PTA, are invited to support the AGM. This is your chance to hear and see
how the funds you have helped to raise have been used for the benefit of the
children at our school. See attached summary of funds raised for 2016/17.
We
appreciate the date of the AGM in October is a while away, but we wanted
official notice of the meeting to be sent out before the summer holidays so
that everyone has time to think about coming along to the meeting and / or
getting more involved with the PTA.
The
PTA Committee (Chair, Treasurer, Secretary) will be elected at the AGM so if
you are interested in taking on one of these roles for the forthcoming academic
year, please speak to Melanie Gravett who can give you more details about what
is involved.
