Week ending 19 May 2017

Musical Allsorts Concert

Many thanks to all our young musicians who played with such enthusiasm and talent last Tuesday! It was clear that many of the younger children really enjoyed it and, hopefully, are aspiring to learn to play an instrument in the future! Thank you to the parents who were able to join us for the concert, and to the parents and members of staff who have commented on how much they enjoyed it too! Mr Payne (guitar) and Mrs Drake (piano) would welcome approaches from parents of pupils who will be Year 3 upwards and we are in contact with the Oxfordshire County Council Music Service regarding the continuation of clarinet lessons for pupils in Year 5 next year. Mr Murray, our current clarinet teacher, has made the observation that of all the schools he visits, only Stadhampton Primary School has a school logo that incorporates an image linking with music – we have a long tradition of music and it is one to be proud of.

MEERKAT Champion of the Week

We are delighted to share the names of our "MEERKAT Champion of the Week" award in each class last week as follows;

Reception – Grace M

Class 1 – Freddie T

Class 2 – Thomas W

Class 3 – Myles D

Well done to you all!

UNICEF Day for Change – 24.05.17

Wednesday 24 May is UNICEF’s annual ‘Day for Change’. UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) work to support every child in danger. This year their focus is on helping malnourished children grow up healthy and strong – you may have been aware of adverts on the television.

We are aware that there have been several charity fundraising events this school year but if you are able to donate any loose change we hope that we can support UNICEF raise vital funds to help provide life-saving food and care for malnourished children. For example, £5 could provide life-saving therapeutic milk to treat a severely malnourished child for 5 days, £50 could train 250 parents/guardians about the importance of good nutrition, helping to ensure that more children grow up healthy & strong, £150 could provide 6 malnourished children with a month’s supply of life-saving emergency food. Please bring any donations into school on Wednesday 24 May. Thank you.

Sainsbury’s Vouchers

Sainsbury’s have now finished distributing their vouchers. Please could everyone bring in any final vouchers they have so that we can count them and exchange them for goods in the catalogue. Thank you to the families who have collected them for us.

Lost Glasses
