World Book Day – Thursday 5th March 2015
Thank you all so much for your support of our World Book Day event. The children were dressed as the most imaginative story-book characters and many of the costumes were home-made. Characters ranged from Harry Potter to Pippy Longstocking, Paddington Bear to Eeyore and Little Red Riding Hood to the Tiger who came to Tea. The response has been fantastic and has brought children’s literature to life. Photographs were taken of all the children and we will shortly be creating a display of these for you all to see. Thank you for your active support, we do appreciate it, and a huge thank you to Mr Wells who took all the photos.

Jian-Zi Tournament 2015

Each year, as part of our Chinese New Year events, we hold an annual ‘Jian-zi’ tournament. If you are unfamiliar with what a Jian-zi is, it is a Chinese feathered toy, similar to a shuttlecock, which is used for ‘keepy-uppy’. We hold this tournament in tandem with our colleagues at our partnership school in Hazlach, Poland. Pupils in each year group are involved and our results are as follows:-

Reception – Cianna Browning (2) Year 1 – Harvey Saunders (3)
Year 2 – Joshua Hursey (3) Year 3 – Lorenzo Elliott (6)
Year 4 – Thomas Cove (27) Year 5 – Max Jones (9)
Year 6 – Greg Madry (9)

The top three Polish scores are:-

Piotr Kaleta (13)
Jakub Suchanek (12)
Marcel Gabzdyl (11)

Congratulations to Thomas Cove for being not only our school winner but our international winner! The trophy returns to Stadhampton!
