Open Morning at Stadhampton School and Little Bears
Stadhampton Primary School and Little Bears Pre-School will be holding a joint Open Morning on Wednesday 13th October between 9.00am and 11.30am. Parents and other visitors are most welcome to come along and see the school at work.

Class Topics/Areas of Study
An outline of the topics/areas of study for each class for Terms 1 and 2 was sent home earlier this week via book bags. We have also sent home booklets which we hope will help parents support their child/ren at home: “Learning Through Play; Numbers” and “Learning Through Play; Letters and Sounds” for pupils in the Foundation Stage and Year 1, and “Supporting your child at home in Mathematics” for the relevant year group for pupils in Years 2-6. We hope you find these helpful.

Year 5 and 6 Assembly with Richard Hudson
Mr Hudson, Head of Icknield Community College will be taking an assembly for Year 5 and 6 pupils AND THEIR PARENTS at Stadhampton School on Monday 20th September at 2.30pm. Please do come along if you can as there will be an opportunity to ask Mr Hudson any questions you may have about life at ICC.

A big Hello and Welcome from the P.T.A!
Hopefully, all families should have been handed a letter about the P.T.A. giving details on what they do and some fund raising ideas planned for the year. If you haven’t received one, please pick up a copy from the school office. It has lots of vital information, including the venue and date of our first meeting – which will be held on Tuesday, 14th September at Eimer Fernie’s house, 15b, Newells Close, at 8.00pm. Please feel free to come along. There are two new Co-Chairs who will be taking the reins – Eimer Fernie (Orla’s mum) and Sarah Madry (Alice, Ewan and Greg’s mum). They would both be very happy to have a chat about any ideas you may have regarding fund raising. Details of how to contact them are in the parent’s letter.
The P.T.A. are looking forward to putting into motion some great events and are very grateful for the support we know parents will give us along the way. Look out for more P.T.A. news in future newsletters.

Extended Services Information

Please find attached to this newsletter a flyer about a 10-week course entlitled “Promoting Positive Behaviour in Children aged 0-12 years” beginning on 29th September at the Chalgrove and Watlington Children’s Centre.

Transfers from Primary School to Secondary Schools in September 2011
It has come to our attention that some parents have received notification from the LA Admissions Team about the need to apply for a place for their child to start secondary school in September 2011 and other families may not have received the letter. Each pupil has been issued with a Unique Identifer by the LA and therefore families who have not received a letter about applying for a place should contact the Admissions Team on 01865 815175 or e-mail them at admissions.schools@oxfordshire.gov.uk. The closing date for applications is 1st November.

Little Bears News
We welcome five new children to Little Bears this week, George Wildblood, Abi Sawyer, Wyatt Bullock, Phoebe Watkins and Daniel Robinson. We hope that they settle quickly and enjoy their time at Little Bears. Our topic for this half term is Nursery Rhymes, this week the children have made Mice for Hickory Dickory Dock.
For the month of October we are very fortunate to have been nominated as one of Waitrose (Thame) community support projects. Please would you put the green tokens in the Little Bears box when you shop (maybe encourage friends and family to do so too). Thank you.
