Newsletter No 1 / 27th February 2009

We are pleased to welcome Jordan Lafford into Class 3 this term as a new Year 5 pupil.

World Book Day Token
All pupils should come home with a £1 book token in their book bag today. This can be used towards the purchase of a book or audio book (please see the details on the token) between 2nd and 29th March 2009.
This year World Book Day is Thursday 5th March and we will be recognising the occasion by each pupil designing a book cover and holding additional story-telling events in each class.

International Jian-zi competition
We now know the results of the competition at our partner school in Hazlach, Poland and this year the score couldn’t have been closer!
Stadhampton Champion Joshua Drake 61
Hazlach Champion Dominik Mandrek 61
Congratulations Joshua!

Sainsbury’s and Tesco Vouchers
We are collecting both Sainsbury and Tesco vouchers.

Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil Appeal
We have a supply of daffodils and a collection box for this charity in the hall. Donations help nurse people with terminal cancer. Thank you.

Little Bears News
This week Little Bears enjoyed making pancakes and then eating them! They have also been playing with the traffic lights lent by the Footsteps Programme to help pupils learn about road safety. Little Bears would be pleased to receive a few more shoe-boxes for our treasure hunt which will take place at the end of March.
