Staff
Recruitment
We have had several applicants for the KS2
teacher post vacancy and will be interviewing on Wednesday 13th
February. Part of this interview involves a teaching activity which will take
place in Class 2. We plan to share the outcomes of the interview process in our
next newsletter.
Shelter
Box Update
The Shelter Box Trust have now received our
collective donation of £590 and extended a big ‘Thank You’ to everyone. We have
arranged for a representative from Shelter Box to talk to us in an assembly on
Wednesday 27th February and show us some of the contents of the box
and explain the work of the charity.
Our donation and the photograph of our Year
6 pupils in their Aladdin costumes (thank you to all the Year 6 parents for
your permission) form part of the Shelter Box Facebook Live presentation, which
can be found on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/ShelterBox/videos/386280635267714/
Chinese
New Year
We
welcomed in the Chinese ‘Year of the pig’ this week, with a whole school
assembly and each class carrying out different activities to mark the occasion
with our annual Jianzi Tournament after half term, in conjunction with our
friends at Haźlach School in Poland. We have had a delivery of jianzi for the
event and a number of children have been spotted concentrating hard on
practising, so we look forward to some high scores!
Payments
Please be aware
that with our conversion to the Acer Trust, cheques made out to OCC can no
longer be accepted by the school. Please make any cheques to school payable to:
Stadhampton Primary – Acer Trust. Thank you.
Advance
Notice of the Date for Work Viewing Evening
Parents will have an opportunity on Monday
11 March between 3.30pm and 6pm to see their children’s work. The class teacher
will be on hand in the classroom to answer any questions you may have but no
formal appointment system is in place for this work viewing evening.
Emergency Access
We appreciate
that the car park gets very busy during our morning drop off and pick up times,
however we ask that people please do not
park in front of the school playground gates. These gates are for use by
emergency vehicles and as such it is important that they are kept clear and
unblocked at all times. We also ask that car park users please be considerate
of others and only use our disabled parking space if necessary.
Internet Safety Day
On
Wednesday this week Mrs Manzie took an assembly on staying safe online in
conjunction with ‘Internet Safety Day 2019’. KS1 & KS2 pupils were shown a PowerPoint
about safety online and how to be careful not to share personal details. They
were also encouraged to involve their parents with their online activities and
questions to help them think about how to behave online. If you want to know
more, then do check out the website:- www.saferinternet.org.uk. Another useful
site we recommend is www.thinkuknow.co.uk and staff have used resources from
both of these sites.

Sue Rider Charity
For your
information, Myles Dobson, a former pupil at Stadhampton Primary School and now
a student at ICC, has had all his hair shaved off to raise money for the Sue
Rider charity. This is a charity close to our hearts as well as to the Dobson
family. Myles has set up a Just Giving page – if you would like to support him,
