Woodlands Residential Visit
As many of you
will know, Class 3 children have been away this week on a 5–day residential
visit to Woodlands Outdoor Education Centre, near Hay on Wye. The group has
been blessed with amazingly good weather which makes all outdoor activities all
the more enjoyable! They have shown a great team spirit and positive attitude
to all tasks and activities – accompanied by plenty of smiles! I was able to
join them for two whole days and accompanied them on their canoeing and caving days;
they have much to be proud of and will have many memories to treasure. No doubt
they will each have their own special memories to share with their families
once they are back on Friday!
Swimming
Contributions Class 3
Thank you to those parents who have already
given their swimming contribution. As always, we are most grateful to receive a
‘voluntary contribution’ from parents of £2 per child per swimming session
towards the transport costs (currently £75 per visit). Cheques for swimming
contributions (£10 in total) should be made payable to Stadhampton School. Thank
you, in advance, for your continued support, it is very much appreciated.
Swimming 01.04.2019
– Important information for Class 3!
On
Monday 1st April Class 3 will
be taking part in life saving activities during their swimming lesson. Please
can they bring pyjamas or an old T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms for swimming to
go over their swimsuits. Thank you.

SENCo Update
As you know Mrs Garrard is retiring from her role as the
Class 2 teacher at the end of this term, however she has very kindly agreed to
continue in her role as our school Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo)
for the summer term and will be in school from time to time throughout that term, and there will be opportunities in
that time to thank Mrs Garrard for her valued contributions to school.
Wraparound Care
Thank you to all the
parents who contacted the school to register interest and who completed the
SPTA Facebook poll. We were really pleased with the number of people wanting
the service and it's clearly something we need to consider offering. In
order to get this off the ground though, we need help - we are researching
what's required - logistics of using the school, staffing (qualifications,
availability, commitment), legalities, finance - at least a start up fund to
pay for staff, training (e.g. First Aid, Safeguarding), breakfast/snacks etc.
are you interested in being involved in this? Are you able to help make
this happen? Have you been involved in setting up this sort of thing before?
Are you interested in working for this provision?
If so, please contact Anita Rowberry (Community Governor) at anitarowberry@gmail.com.

Easter Cupcake Competition and Cake Sale - Wednesday 3rd April
Following the success of our Easter cake competition last year, we will be holding another Easter cupcake competition for the children on Wednesday 3rd April, together with a cake sale on the same day after school.
If your child would like to enter, please make sure
their Easter themed cupcakes (or biscuits) are brought into school on
the Wednesday morning for judging, along with the entry fee of 50p (not £1
as said previously). There will be a prize for the best decorated
cake in each year group. Unless otherwise specified, all cakes will then
be sold as part of the cake sale after school.
Donations of cakes or biscuits (Easter themed or not) for the cake
sale are also very welcome.

Mother’s Day event at St John's
We are
holding a special service for Mother's Day on Sunday at 10am in the village
church. We would love children and their families to come along to read a poem
or prayer and also to sing – particularly the school singing group members to
lead us in ‘Million dreams’. It will be a musical and fun interactive service
with bouquets for mums and refreshments for all. Everyone is welcome so please
do come along.
